The motivation for the establishment of Sables is based on the academic research and practical experience of the founder and the need to serve the world better in the field of natural resources. The metals and minerals in the ground. Are blessings on earth. They are for a purpose which is as clearly established as the presence of the metals and minerals underground. These metals and minerals benefit everyone. Whether you are aware of it or not, they touch our lives from the very basic of our needs to luxuries that we engage with or in. They can provide revenues for governments, employment and income for the poorest and enable the clean energy transition. No matter how much or many a country has of them, they have no use unless they are taken out of the ground!
The questions must never be why they are mined but how they are mined and consumed or utilized. This is because, like most modern large-scale methods of business and development today, the process of mining involves the emission of greenhouse gases and other environmental effects as well as social and governance issues. These call for very serious attention. As the global climate crisis become more and more real, threatening the existence of humanity?, the urgency to pose the relevant questions and find the answers become aggravated. Therefore, Sables was set up for these reasons and to use the vast network of its principals to serve the world from the Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, a country that has already expressed its interests in the same questions and finding the answers by hosting COP28 in the year 2023. There are numerous other sustainability activities in the UAE, which we hope to participate in.
